![]() ![]() I think Monstrous Urge, their version of the Great Curse, might cover a few of the bases. ![]() Lunars are still capable of doing so kinds of terrifying shit, and you can generally be sure that they meant to. I think the narrative for Lunar characters and powers is a lot stronger when centered on the idea that they're filled with dichotomies but essentially in control. Those were all products I attached to, but I really do think the final product is stronger without them. It's similar to how the focus on Rage was more understated, and basically no follow up to that core book stuff about them being so hung up on the Old Realm in a mystical sense. Probably also a point at which a decision needed to be made about incompatible paths for the Casteless to take. Looking at Fangs at the Gate, I suspect it was the kind of thing that was drummed out on the whole when they placed the strongest emphasis on Lunar relationships, and their cultural and political context. That was probably somewhere around their ideas for what the equivalent was going to be like, and I found the description compelling. If my memory serves, I remember Holden & Hatewheel stating a way back they were going to create a new reason for 'Chimeras' (monster Lunars), but I guess it didn't make the release.Ī pity, as I was curious what they where going to create.Yeah, there was a thing Holden described once on RPG.Net that I focused on for a long time about the mental state of a Lunar who stayed Casteless for too long. ![]() So Ma-Ha-Suchi, for example, is a chimera, because his spirit shape is a hybrid of goat and wolf. They get access to some caste powers from all three of the current Castes, though on a shifting schedule, and they don't get Caste Attributes (but do get slightly cheaper attributes and charms that are non-favored).Ĭhimeras, rather than being linked to Castelessness, are instead any Lunar who's spirit shape is a combination of two different animals rather than a single beast (which is represented by taking the charm Chimera-Soul Expression). Casteless Lunars now don't risk mutation or derangement when shapeshifting. UPDATES TATTOOERS STUDIO FAQs Here you can check some of the commonly asked questions about appointments, tattoos, aftercare etc. They decided that their old castes didn't work anymore, so they came up with a new set, and the tattoos are the way they set them (and there's some hints that changing the castes happened before, possibly just after the war against the Primordials). The moonsilver tattoos and the current set of Lunar castes that they create are presented as an active step that the Lunars took to adapt to the post-Usurpation landscape. ![]() Tattoo stations, as well as a piercing room, are inconspicuously present. How has 3rd Edition handled the concept & origin of Chimera? I heard it is quite different.Yeah, the whole idea of the Lunar Exaltations being warped by the Wyld, and the tattoos being necessary to correct that has been completely dropped. Natural light pours into Chimera Tattoo Studio and Gallery through the windows that fill the front of the shop, showcasing the artwork of fine artists, which line the freshly painted walls.
